Patch 1.0.26 Update

Why 1.0.26 matters

Patch 1.0.26 shipped on 2026-08-13 as TEAM HORAY’s largest post-launch maintenance pass after Patch 1.0.24 (2026-08-07). Steam also delivered 1.0.27 in the same news post β€” a one-line fix so preset buttons remain selectable at certain resolutions. Treat 1.0.26 + 1.0.27 as one client. The later 1.0.28 hotfix (2026-08-16) is smaller and should be installed on top.

This is not a new chapter or a redeem-code event. Sephiria stays six chapters, Steam Windows and macOS, online co-op up to four through the Mysterious Door, and no host migration. What changed is fairness: Dagger combos, Chapter 6 stun bugs, Hard Mode modifier honesty, tablet language bugs, and controller magic casting.

Read this beside Version 1.0 for systems baseline. Carrot marks (πŸ₯•) in official notes mean community-requested fixes.

Combat rule changes

Dagger Dash Attack can now chain into Special Attack: Parry and Special Attack: Fury. If you play the Dagger branch from Weapon Types, re-test dash β†’ special timing in Training Grounds before a Hard Mode climb. The old habit of treating dash and special as separate buttons wastes the new chain.

Lightning Flash β€” Special Attack: Issen now grants invincibility while sheathing. Katana / Blade players who already commit to Issen windows get a safer recover. This is a fairness buff, not a new weapon.

Black Iron Halberd β€” the Tier 2 upgrade effect now applies correctly. If a Greatsword or polearm-adjacent grid felt dead after an Anvil pick, re-check the upgrade in a short run.

Superconductor β€” multiplayer now notifies when the special cannot fire because Storm Clouds are insufficient. Clients no longer silently fail the button.

Multiplayer: temporary HP and spectate

πŸ₯• In multiplayer, HP gained above maximum from another player’s revive (temporary HP) no longer disappears when you heal. Temporary HP is now lost whenever maximum HP changes. Plan Companion Build revives around that rule: a Potion after a revive keeps the buffer; a max-HP artifact swap can wipe it.

πŸ₯• After you die, you can view other players’ screens. Control guides appear while spectating is available. This is the biggest co-op quality-of-life change since 1.0 β€” downed players can still call Chapter 6 Final Boss lasers instead of sitting on a black screen.

Host migration is still absent. Spectate does not save a lobby if the host disconnects.

Chapter 6 final boss fairness

πŸ₯• The finale no longer stays invincible if stunned while teleporting. πŸ₯• It no longer freezes in place when stunned at the start of certain patterns. πŸ₯• Give Up works again immediately after the fight instead of locking until the next expedition.

If your group farmed a β€œstuck invuln” wipe in early August, update before blaming the grid. Pattern homework on the Chapter 6 Final Boss page still applies β€” this patch removes soft-locks, not difficulty.

Hard Mode honesty

πŸ₯• Tension now applies in all boss fights (it previously skipped some). πŸ₯• Festival of Blood no longer triggers on already defeated targets in some boss rooms. Both changes make modifier text match combat. Re-read Hard Mode if you built around a missing Tension proc or extra Blood Festival heals.

Gamepad users: 1.0.28 later fixed Hard Mode difficulty not changing correctly on a pad. Install both.

Presets: 7 β†’ 15 slots and lock

πŸ₯• Preset slots expanded from 7 to 15. A slot lock was added. Reset Slot is now Delete Slot β€” deleted setups cannot be recovered. Name locks for Hard Mode, co-op support Staff, and a safe Sword & Shield learner kit. See Presets for the verification checklist after every load.

1.0.27 fixed preset buttons that could not be selected at certain resolutions. Ultrawide and 16:10 users should update before assuming the UI is broken.

Items, artifacts, and combo stage 6

πŸ₯• Tablets no longer appear in the Subspace Shop unlock list if you have not purchased the matching Destiny Inscription. πŸ₯• Tablet Inscription and Dice Conversion no longer appear as battle-zone rewards before unlock. πŸ₯• Dice Conversion can no longer be used infinitely in certain situations.

Green Sawblade β€” the buff now applies correctly when 30 or more MP is consumed at once, not only once per dump.

πŸ₯• Glacier, Ember, and Magitech combo Stage 6 effects now work. If a Combo Effects panel showed stage 6 with no combat payoff, this was the bug. Re-test those three families before abandoning the line.

πŸ₯• Eternal grade items in shop lists now use a distinct background. Visual only β€” Merchants & Economy prices still matter more than color.

πŸ₯• Hat Merchant no longer sells duplicate items after a rejoin. πŸ₯• Mole Mechanic no longer heals other Mechanics.

Gamepad and DualSense

πŸ₯• Magic casting on a gamepad shows an on-screen skill UI. Options β†’ Gamepad lets you add more quick-cast keys. RT is now the default Quick Cast 1. DualSense trigger assignment no longer eats the button icon. Stick tilt can no longer be bound as a control key. DualShock gained touchpad button images.

Full layout notes live on the new Gamepad & Controllers page and the updated Controls guide.

Stability, language, and town

πŸ₯• Tablet effects now function across language settings β€” a silent killer for Korean, Japanese, and Spanish clients. πŸ₯• Steam not recognized could block the next stage at low probability β€” fixed. Weapon and artifact crash paths were hardened. πŸ₯• Chapter 5 now shows a quest guide when you cannot depart. πŸ₯• Ancient Records text no longer cuts off and has a close button. πŸ₯• Destiny Quests no longer stall because another NPC’s quest was available. Chapter 6 clear + rejoin progression and Chapter 5 lobby kicks on game over were fixed. Wasteland cliff walk-offs and Steam overlay canceling magic-cast mode were corrected.

Update checklist after 1.0.26

  1. Confirm Steam installed 1.0.26 / 1.0.27, then 1.0.28.
  2. Dagger and Lightning Flash players: one Training Grounds session for the new chains and Issen i-frames.
  3. Open Preset Settings β€” lock the kits you care about; do not tap Delete casually.
  4. Co-op: die once on purpose and confirm spectate plus the temporary-HP heal rule.
  5. Glacier / Ember / Magitech grids: verify Stage 6 combat procs.
  6. Gamepad casters: set Quick Cast keys and read Gamepad.
  • Patch 1.0.28 β€” Chapter 4 UI, weapon tooltip, Hard Mode pad, time-change reset.
  • Patch 1.0.24 β€” costumes, Rich Presence, Chapter 5β†’6 invites.
  • Presets β€” 15 slots and lock workflow.
  • Co-op β€” spectate and revive HP.
  • Gamepad β€” DualSense and magic quick-cast.
  • Updates Hub β€” full archive.

1.0.26 is the patch that makes August Sephiria match its tooltips: Dagger chains, honest Hard Mode, usable presets, and a dead teammate who can still call lasers. Install it, then install 1.0.28.
