Tablets complete the grid

Tablets are Sephiria’s adjacency modifiers — roughly 70 in 1.0 — placed on the same inventory grid as artifacts. A tablet checks neighboring artifact tiles (usually orthogonal) for matching tags — weapon family, element, proc type — then grants passive stats or triggered bonuses. Without tablets, artifacts underperform; with correct tablet combinations, commons outscale greedy rarity picks.

Tablets reset each run like artifacts. Permanent power still flows from Destiny Inscription and Ken’s talents via Getting Started.

Think artifacts as nouns, tablets as grammar.

Tag glossary

Tablets reference the same tag families as artifacts:

  • Weapon tags — Sword & Shield, Greatsword, Dagger, Katana, Crossbow, Staff lines from Weapon Types.
  • Element tags — Fire, ice, lightning, poison; critical for Hard Mode modifiers.
  • Proc tags — On-hit, on-parry, on-kill, on-dodge.
  • Miracle tags — Cooldown reduction, damage amp, cleanse.
  • Sustain tags — Heal, shield, regen between rooms.

Read tablet tooltips for exact neighbor count — some want one match, others want two aligned tiles.

Preview with Q/E

Never slap a tablet down during combat adrenaline. Use Q and E from Controls to highlight eligible neighbors. One rotation mistake silences a proc chain for the rest of the chapter.

Drop pacing by chapter

Chapters 1–2: generic sustain tablets — heal/shield corners for learning telegraphs.

Chapters 3–4: branch-specific tablets matching your weapon upgrades.

Chapters 5–6: Miracle and burst tablets before Chapter 6 Final Boss.

Hard Mode: elemental tablets layered onto existing rails; do not scrap whole grid — swap via Side Bag from Version 1.0.

Combination templates (summary)

Full recipes live on Tablet Combinations. Quick reference:

Corner anchor — 2x2 artifact block + L tablets on two sides.

Straight rail — three artifacts in a row + tablets above/below.

T-hub — central artifact with tablets on four sides for Miracle engines.

Side Bag bridge — store tablet until matching artifact appears.

Pick one template per run primary line plus one utility line.

Co-op tablet calls

In online co-op, tablets feel scarce when four players hunt the same tag. Announce needs:

  • “Hold fire tablets — I am building top rail.”
  • “Parry tablet for elite six — do not auto-grab.”

Personal grids mean personal responsibility; host disconnect ends run (no host migration).

Tablets and inscription

Some inscription nodes amplify tablet proc strength or expand effective adjacency logic (if present in your save). Track nodes on Destiny Checklist. Under-inscribed tablet lines feel “bugged” when numbers simply lack scaling.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Placing tablet before artifact rail exists.
  • Mixing three elemental tablets without artifact support.
  • Breaking a working line for +1 rarity tablet with wrong tag.
  • Forgetting boss swap windows with Side Bag.
  • Ignoring Companion Build support cleanse tablets in co-op Hard Mode.

Tablets are small UI tiles with oversized impact. Learn tags, preview with Q/E, and your ~70 options become a toolkit instead of inventory clutter.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many tablets are in Sephiria 1.0?

About 70 tablets that activate when placed adjacent to artifacts with matching tags on the inventory grid.

How do I know if a tablet is active?

Use Q/E preview on the grid — eligible adjacent artifacts highlight when tags match the tablet's requirements.

Can tablets activate multiple artifacts?

Yes. Many tablets buff all qualifying neighbors, which is why rail and T-hub templates work well.

Where do I find tablet combination examples?

See Tablet Combinations on the Builds hub for corner, rail, and Miracle hub templates.
