Save Files Guide

Why save hygiene matters in Sephiria

Sephiria stores long-term power in Destiny Inscription, Ken talents, costumes, weapon unlocks, and story flags across six chapters. A corrupted slot can wipe hours of Bunnyville progress even when your Steam library still shows the game installed. TEAM HORAY documents official paths for save files and Player.log crash logs — this guide consolidates those locations for Windows and macOS players on Steam (app 2436940).

Use this page before major Hard Mode climbs, before experimenting with mods, and after crashes during co-op or Preset loads. Patch 1.0.24 specifically improved cases where backup saves failed to load after corruption — still keep your own copies.

Official save file location

TEAM HORAY’s technical FAQ points save data to the system Saved Games folder:

Windows

  1. Press Win + R.
  2. Paste %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Sephiria and press Enter.
  3. Look for slot files such as SLOT1.sav, SLOT2.sav, SLOT3.sav.
  4. Backup files often look like SLOT1backup_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.sav — sort by modified date.

Alternate Explorer path many players use:

C:\Users\{YourName}\Documents\Saved Games\Sephiria

If OneDrive redirects Documents, confirm permissions on the Sephiria folder (right-click → Properties → Security). TEAM HORAY notes OneDrive sync can block save creation.

macOS

Finder → your user folder → Saved GamesSephiria. Sort by date, then restore a matching SLOT#backup_....sav by renaming it to SLOT#.sav when recovering a slot.

Log files for crashes and bug reports

Steam patch notes and support posts point logs to LocalLow (Windows) or Library Logs (Mac):

Windows logs

C:\Users\{Your_PC_Name}\AppData\LocalLow\TEAMHORAY\Sephiria

  • Player.log — current session
  • Player-prev.log — previous session

Quick open: Win + R → %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\TEAMHORAY\Sephiria

macOS logs

Finder → Go (hold Option) → Library → Logs/TEAMHORAY/Sephiria

Attach these logs when emailing [email protected] or posting in official Discord, especially for Training Grounds freezes tracked around 1.0.24 / 1.0.25.

How to back up safely

  1. Fully quit Sephiria — do not copy mid-run.
  2. Copy the entire Saved Games\Sephiria folder to a dated backup directory (Desktop or external drive).
  3. Optionally copy the LocalLow log folder if you are mid-ticket with support.
  4. Keep at least one backup from before Root’s Retreat stage pushes and one after major patches such as 1.0.24.

Steam Cloud can help, but it is not a substitute for a local dated zip. If a cloud sync fights a restored file, temporarily disable Cloud for Sephiria (Properties → General), restore the slot, launch once, then re-enable Cloud only after verifying Bunnyville state.

Restoring a backup slot

  1. Quit the game.
  2. In Saved Games\Sephiria, identify the backup matching your slot.
  3. Rename the broken SLOT1.sav (example) to SLOT1.sav.broken.
  4. Rename SLOT1backup_....sav to SLOT1.sav.
  5. Launch and confirm inscription, costumes, and chapter flags.
  6. Re-verify Presets and Destiny Checklist notes against the restored board.

Mods are unsupported officially. Gameplay-altering mods in public lobbies without consent violate TEAM HORAY’s stated multiplayer mod etiquette — keep experimental installs off your main slot.

What saves do and do not store

Saves track meta progression and slot state: inscription purchases, talents, unlocks, story, and active run data. They do not replace wiki tools — your browser Destiny Checklist is separate. They also do not grant redeem codes; Sephiria has none.

  • Presets — loadout templates that sit on top of save slots.
  • Destiny Inscription — permanent nodes you are protecting.
  • Platforms — Windows and macOS availability.
  • Updates — patch notes that mention save/load fixes.
  • Getting Started — first Bunnyville loop after a clean install.

Back up before greed. Sephiria’s tower is hard enough without losing the Sapphires that already paid for your next chapter.
