Actives and consumables that turn a good grid into a boss-clearing kit.

Miracles & Potions

Tactical layer above the grid

Miracles and Potions are Sephiria’s active item layer atop the passive inventory grid of artifacts and tablets. Miracles behave like cooldown abilities — bursts, shields, cleanses, area denial — often amplified by grid tags and Destiny Inscription nodes. Potions are consumables that recover health, cleanse statuses, or grant brief offensive windows. Both shipped prominently in 1.0 (2026-07-31) alongside Side Bag storage from Version 1.0 notes.

Neither replaces telegraph skill from Controls. Potions cover mistakes you understand; Miracles punctuate windows you create with stagger or parry.

Miracles overview

Miracles typically:

  • Slot into dedicated ability bars (number keys on PC).
  • Respect cooldowns modified by Staff grids and tablet tags.
  • Scale with weapon branch upgrades (200+ per path) and inscription.
  • Interact with Hard Mode elemental modifiers — cleanse Miracles rise in value.

Staff / Magic from Weapon Types is the native Miracle carrier, but any branch can run Miracle-heavy grids if tablets support cooldown reduction.

Plan one primary Miracle identity per run. Two unrelated Miracles without grid support spread cooldowns too thin.

Potions overview

Potions are consumable with inventory limits:

  • Health Potions — recover from failed dodge reads while learning.
  • Cleanse Potions — answer poison or freeze stacks in Hard Mode.
  • Offensive Potions — short burst windows for Chapter 6 Final Boss phases.

Potions drop from rooms, shops, or rewards — exact economy varies by chapter. Hoarding Potions “just because” wastes Side Bag space better used for artifact swaps.

Miracle + grid synergy

Tablets with Miracle tags form T-hub layouts on Tablet Combinations. Artifacts that proc on Miracle cast create feedback loops:

  1. Stagger boss with frontline parry (Sword & Shield).
  2. Cast burst Miracle during stagger timer.
  3. On-cast artifact procs extend damage window.
  4. Potions reserved for emergency beam overlap.

Without adjacency support, Miracles feel weak — fix grid before blaming ability.

Co-op Miracle etiquette

Online co-op punishes four players firing Miracles simultaneously:

  • Call casts — “shield in 3… now.”
  • Stagger bursts — assassin waits for support shield.
  • Cleanse ownership — one Staff player handles elemental clears.
  • Host stability — disconnect wastes Potions and cooldowns (no host migration).

See Companion Build for role assignments.

Hard Mode consumable planning

Elemental modifiers from Hard Mode guide mean:

  • Bring cleanse Potions or Miracles before unknown modifier sets.
  • Side Bag swap elemental tablets and matching Potions before boss doors.
  • Do not chug health Potions to ignore telegraphs — inscription cannot outscale infinite mistakes.

When to use Potions (discipline)

Good uses:

  • Recover after identified mistake.
  • Survive last-hit boss phase to secure clear.
  • Cleanse unavoidable ambient aura in Hard Mode.

Bad uses:

  • Spam during learning chapters one and two.
  • Replace parry practice on Katana builds.
  • Cover dead-cell grids that lack sustain artifacts.

Side Bag integration

Side Bag holds situational Miracle amplifiers or extra Potions before checkpoints. Swap in town-equivalent rest points and before major bosses — not mid-combat unless UI allows safe rooms.

Progression linkage

Miracles do not replace Destiny Inscription — they multiply it. Ken’s Home Repair talents from Getting Started may touch Potion efficiency or Miracle cooldown; read tooltips when unlocking.

Track inscription that affects actives on Destiny Checklist.

Sample boss kit

Entering chapter six boss with:

  • Primary burst Miracle on cooldown inscription.
  • One cleanse Potion for elemental phase.
  • One health Potion for identified lethal beam.
  • Side Bag swap artifact line for phase two DPS check.

Adjust after first wipe using pattern notes from Chapter 6 Final Boss.

Miracles and Potions are Sephiria’s punctuation marks. Grid craft writes the sentence; actives end the fight when timing — not panic — pulls the trigger.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the difference between Miracles and Potions in Sephiria?

Miracles are cooldown actives slotted on your ability bar. Potions are consumables for healing, cleanses, or short buffs with limited stock.

Which weapon uses Miracles best?

Staff/Magic natively fits Miracle grids, but any branch can run Miracle builds with the right tablet and inscription support.

Do Potions carry over between runs?

Consumables are run-based like artifacts. Plan per-run kits; permanent power is Destiny Inscription and talents.

Cleanse and shield Miracles counter elemental modifiers. Coordinate with Potions and elemental tablets from Hard Mode guide.
