Sephiria Build Planner Checklist
Plan weapon, grid, combo, and Side Bag choices before you spend another Sapphire evening.
Why plan builds on paper (or this page)
Sephiria punishes improvisation after chapter three. With ~300 artifacts, ~70 tablets, six weapon branches, and Destiny Inscription permanence, the players who clear Root’s Retreat stages decide before the Mysterious Door what success looks like.
This Build Planner page is a checklist-style planning guide — not a third-party calculator app. Use it beside the game, tick decisions mentally or in notes, then validate in-run with Q/E preview from Inventory Grid. Pair with the interactive Destiny Checklist for Sapphire tracking.
Pre-run planner (copy this list)
1. Goal
- First campaign clear
- Co-op role night
- Hard Mode modifier week
- Root’s Retreat stage band (1–5 / 6–15 / 16–30)
- Achievement hunt (alternate boss / secrets)
2. Weapon and costume
- One Weapon Types branch committed
- Matching inscription nodes purchased (not hybrid split)
- Training Grounds drill completed for that branch
- Costume starting package chosen
- Preset saved after last successful grid
3. Grid and combo
- Primary Combo Effects family named (fire / frost / lightning / physical / summon…)
- Tablet adjacency plan from Tablet Combinations
- Dead-cell budget: zero by chapter four
- Alchemy Combo pairs noted if your route uses them
4. Side Bag and consumables
- Exploration kit vs boss kit listed (Side Bag)
- Cleanse / burst Miracles & Potions for the goal
- Merchant reroll rules from Merchants & Economy
5. Account checks
- Destiny Checklist updated
- Ken Talents not blocking the plan
- Steam build updated through latest hotfix (Updates)
- Optional: Save Files backup before marathon sessions
Archetype shortcuts
| Goal | Start template |
|---|---|
| Learn telegraphs | Sword & Shield — Recommended Builds |
| Stable stages | Defense Build |
| Magic loops | Magic Grimoire |
| Party roles | Companion Build |
| Summon grids | Summon Companions |
Open the matching page, then return here and fill the checklist so you do not mix three archetypes mid-run.
Mid-run decision rules
When a reward screen appears, ask in order:
- Does it fit an active tablet line?
- Does it feed the named combo family?
- Does it belong in Side Bag instead of the main grid?
- If no to all three, sell or skip — rarity is not a plan.
These rules are the real “build calculator.” Spreadsheet apps cannot see your live adjacency; you can.
After-run review (five minutes)
- What wiped you — modifier, elite, or boss phase?
- Which checklist box was a lie (usually combo commitment)?
- Update Preset if the grid improved; delete Preset if it encoded a dead cell habit.
- Practice the weak pattern in Gauntlet Mode before another Sapphire sink.
How this tool page differs from Destiny Checklist
| Tool | Job |
|---|---|
| Destiny Checklist | Track permanent Sapphire nodes |
| Build Planner (this page) | Plan the next run’s weapon/grid/combo/Side Bag package |
Use both. Inscription without a run plan wastes Sapphires; a run plan without inscription hits a ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is this Sephiria build planner an interactive calculator?
It is a checklist-style planning guide on the wiki. Use it beside the game with Q/E preview; pair it with the Destiny Checklist for Sapphire tracking.
What should I decide before a run?
Goal, one weapon branch, costume, named combo family, Side Bag boss kit, and matching inscription — then save a Preset.
How do I use this with Recommended Builds?
Pick an archetype on Recommended Builds or Defense Build, then fill this checklist so mid-run rewards cannot derail the plan.
Does the planner work for Hard Mode?
Yes. Set the goal to Hard Mode or a Root's Retreat stage band and add cleanse/burst consumables before you enter.
